Mission statement
To encourage every Muslim to be
fully prepared to celebrate Ramadhan by going through a free training programme
that only requires the participants to invest some time and effort.
Major problem of the Muslims nowadays
Many Muslims are having problem
to perform deeds consistently throughout Ramadhan. During the early days of
Ramadhan, we may find people occupying masjids to perform ‘ibadah. However,
towards the end of the month, the scenario would differ – less people are
coming to masjids, and eventually, the situation in masjids is more or less the
same as in other months. What is the root of this problem?
A misunderstanding about Ramadhan
“Ramadhan is a month for us to
practice getting used to performing as much deeds,” says a brother. Do you
agree with his statement?
If you agree, you have been
mistaken! Ramadhanis supposed to be the month of competition to do virtuous
deeds.Whereas, the other eleven months should be the training time so that we
can maximize our performance during the 30 Days Marathon challenge (read:
Ramadhan).
Apropos of this matter, the 30
Days Marathon team would like to call upon all Muslims to shift our paradigm of
Ramadhan. Let us utilize all the time left to engage in intensive training to
ensure that we have braced ourselves to face Ramadhan.
Strategies to outstanding performance
By employing the strategies
used by Kenenisa Bekele (worldrecord holder in 5km and 10km long distance
running event), 30 Days Marathon crew summarizes his strategies in the
following 5 points:
1. We must have the intention
and dream to succeed in our 30 Days Marathon challenge.
2. We have to practice with
full of determination and discipline before the challenge begins, which is on
the first day of Ramadhan.
3. Bekele starts the race
leading the pack, yet still controlling his running pace so that it won’t be
too distressing and cause him to collapse before the finishing line. Thus, we
are advised to perform ‘ibadah in accordance to our own capabilities so we may
be steadfast in performing the deeds until the last day of Ramadhan.
4. Towards the finishing line,
Bekele will apply the late-race surge strategy to win the race. Similarly, we
are encouraged to perform all kinds of ‘ibadah during the final 10 days of
Ramadhan as our ‘sprint finish’.
